In this paper I have examined the role IoT gateways play at the edge and how they
can save businesses money in their day-to-day operations. I also looked at recent
tests that show how these gateways are even more effective when based on Intel®
Core™ i7 processors compared to Intel® Atom™ processors in simulations of realworld
applications.
